We open just prior to the first-ever Wrestling With Christ program with the Pastor of these proceedings, Marty Kovacs sitting at a desk drinking from a glass of some alcoholic beverage. He sipped upon it a few moments before a voice echoed out.
“Marty!”
Marty jumped, startled by the voice.
Marty Kovacs: “Damnit, Lazlo! You almost gave me a heart attack.”
He said as he stood up and looked at the man, both of them glaring at one another before laughing.
Lazlo Goodlove: “I can’t believe we finally did it…”
Marty Kovacs: “Combining wrestling and Jesus… nobody thought it could be done.”
He said proudly as the two walked out the door and began up some stairs, the Los Angeles sun beaming down through cracks in a door they approached while climbing. Once open, the sun was bright but they seemed to be here to see something else.
Lazlo Goodlove: “You thought it could be done, Marty. You did it… This whole thing is a sellout.”
Both Marty and Lazlo stood on the rooftop, peering down as a crowd surrounded the temple which would house tonight's event. The megachurch ready to take them all.
Lazlo Goodlove: “We better get moving, Marty. We need to get this whole thing going… the whole wrestling thing.”
Suddenly, Marty held his hand up, cutting Lazlo off and shaking his head.
Marty Kovacs: “Lazlo my friend, we’re not just wrestling…”
Slowly he turned to face a camera, a cheesy grin appearing on his face as he peered into the camera.
Lazlo Goodlove: “We’re Wrestling With Christ.”
♱
Pyros blared as the cameras push into the temple in scenic Los Angeles, California! Immediately we go to ringside with announcers Lazlo Goodlove and Nate Paxton! The center of the stage featured a ring in the center, with two tunnels adorned on each side.
Lazlo Goodlove: “Ladies and gentlemen welcome to Wrestling With Christ! I am the Reverend Lazlo Goodlove and with me is my associate, the always angry Nate ‘Please Don’t Say That on TV’ Paxton!”
Nate Paxton: “Goddamnit it Lazlo. But welcome one and all to Wrestling With Christ, Night 1! Boy what a show we have for you!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “That’s one of the things you can’t say, Nate, we’re on Trinity, remember? Anyway! After he’s done taking our good lord's name in vain, we’re going to get things going right with some good, old school tag team action!”
Nate Paxton: “That’s right! Here at Christ Centered Wrestling, we’re all about the tag teams and boy, what a treat we have for you next!”
In the ring, the ring announcer - Billy Jack ‘Pipes’ Cipes stood with a microphone in hand, beaming at the events he was witnessing as the crowd went wild!
BJ. Cipes: “Ladies and gentlemen, to begin the evening, I would like to ask you all to join me in prayer…”
Some of the fans who weren’t actually fans of the whole Jesus thing seemed confused, the cameras passing over them as some of them joked and laughed. Though others seemed to go through with the bowing of heads, prayer and so on.
Lazlo Goodlove: “Here we can see members of the roster for tonight and tomorrow's show, all of whom seem to be having their own reactions to this request.”
Nate Paxton: “That’s the thing about what Marty Kovacs has put together here, we have all kinds, whether we want them or not. People of every color, blacks, Latinos, every sexuality…”
Lazlo Goodlove: “Classic casual racism from my partner here of which I’m being told we should already issue an apology for…”
The cameras in the back catch the roster, whether it be Winter Drell seemingly conflicted on what to do, Reverend Thomas Reece devoutly bowing his head and praying… Tony Savage praying devoutly. Flex Appeal, the tandem of Skylar and Matt Knight working out in a corner with no worry. Gus Stevens smoked and simply looked unamused. The Double Dragons energetically talking back and forth and discussing their game plan. A small group of Brennan Devlin, Cecily Golding, Cai Yukiko, and a handful of others chattered nearby, Devlin snickering. The group of the American Pain Express - Duke Andrews, Chris Constantine Jr., and Redd Thunder chatted amongst themselves. And so many others were featured, including a stone-faced Tedmund Montgomery, looking disgusted at others for not bowing their head.
We move back to the ring after the prayer was over, where ring announcer BJ Cipes stood in the center of the ring looking dapper in a suit.
BJ Cipes: “Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is the Bring Your Bible Battle Royal match!”
[ BRING YOUR BIBLE BATTLE ROYAL ]
Participants: Dirty Gus Stevens, Kira Izumi, the Resurrected One, Bun Bun, The Double Dragons, Cai Yukiko, The Christ Stars (Dynamite Larry, Radical Randy), Vita Valenteen, Noah Jackson, Cecily Golding, Brennan Devlin, Magnus, Centurion, Duke Andrews, Daequan, Baewatch (Barry Allen and Jacob Holliday), Flex Appeal (Skylar and Matt Knight), Robbie Bourbon, Maverick, Kymmy Olliver, and TBD.
Nate Paxton: “Boy do we have a cluster**** coming up next, Lazlo.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “We do, Pax, but let me remind you this is God’s house and not the brothel you were in begging women to do unspeakable things to your rear end. God bless.”
Nate Paxton: “Oh no problem, Laz. Should we talk about how you were crying on the floor of the bathroom prior to the show?”
Lazlo Goodlove: “I was crying because I had to deal with you and in the ring, we see those men and women who have signed with Wrestling With Christ entering the ring.”
The crowd of talents filled the ring, all glancing at one another, waiting for the bell. Many brought bibles, some thicker than others, some even having steel plates and other devices attached.
Lazlo Goodlove: “Twenty five men and women are about to go at it for the chance to move on to the Golden Ticket Championship match, ladies and gentlemen. Twenty-five men and women and… wait a minute…”
Heavenly light began to shine down on one of the entrances to the side of the stage, everyone in the ring stopping in their tracks as they glared into the divine light.
Lazlo Goodlove: “No way… this entire program in the build-up, everyone has wanted to wrestle religious deities but…”
Nate Paxton: “Is it? Can it be?”
The bright light traveled down the ramp towards the ring, though it looked strange as if a spotlight were following a path. Everyone in the ring began to back up in horror as the invisible figure climbed through the ropes and into the ring.
BJ. Cipes: “Ladies and gentlemen, the 26th entrant into this contest… GOD!”
The fans erupted! God had made his professional wrestling debut. The fans of Wrestling With Christ, the forever faithful began to chant.
The Faithful: “GOD IS GONNA KILL YOU!”
Clap! Clap! Clap!
Lazlo Goodlove: “Everyone in the ring clearly have no idea how to respond…”
Nate Paxton: “God’s gotta be the favorite here, right?”
Lazlo Goodlove: “You think?! Who will be the first to go against God?!”
Kira Izumi took a run at God, only to end up knocked across the ring! The invisible presence bowling him over. Matt Knight dropped to all fours only for Skylar Knight to step on him, then leap from him with a clothesline!
Lazlo Goodlove: “God just ducked that flying clothesline from Skylar, the rest of the people in the ring in shock!”
Nate Paxton: “Kira Izumi is in the corner confused as well, what will it take to defeat God? He clearly wants the Golden Ticket Championship!”
Centurion showing no fear grabbed God and began to try to force him over the top rope! But God was holding on! The crowd going wild as God struggled, hanging over the top. Across the ring, the army of talent inside began to do battle!
Lazlo Goodlove: “The flood gates are opening! God is about to be eliminated by Centurion and others in the Battle Royal are starting to go at it! Short arm clothesline by Magnus on Duke Andrews!”
Andrews hit the mat but quickly got up, catching Magnus with an uppercut, then a fallaway slam! Across the ring, Vita Valenteen and Noah Jackson were singling out Dynamite Larry and Radical Randy, the two tag teams going at it. The Double Dragons saw this and soon entered the fray themselves. Jeff Bogard managed to take out Vita at the knees, while Jackson was being beaten down by Larry and Randy! Randy began to lift Jackson out of the ring, only for Johnny Lee to dropkick Randy in the back sending him flying out, while Jackson collapsed to the apron and clung to the bottom rope!
Lazlo Goodlove: “There goes Randy… and there goes his partner, Dynamite Larry as well!”
God was back in the ring, having sent Centurion to the mat with a blast of unearthly, invisible energy. Then suddenly, everyone in the ring collapsed.
Nate Paxton: “The power of our Lord and Savior is a sight to behold! The entirety of the remaining men in the ring just collapsed and… wait a minute!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “The self-proclaimed Young God is here and the Faithful are giving a mixed reaction!”
Nate Paxton: “The undefeated Hollywood Heritage Heavyweight Champion of California Wrestling fame is in the building, he’s not booked until night two?! WHAT IS HE DOING HERE!”
The Faithful: “YOUNG GOD! *clap clap* YOUNG GOD!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “Can you feel the electricity Nate?!”
Nate Paxton: “As blasphemous as this sounds, the Young God is staring down the Old God!”
It was as if time had stood still, God and Chang Dong Geun staring one another down. Two of the most charismatic individuals to have ever existed. An invisible force standing across the ring from Chang.
Lazlo Goodlove: “He’s not even in this match!”
Nate Paxton: “They’re nose to nose! I think I picked up a few of those words Chang just threw out in his own native tongue and I’m not sure we can air it on TV!”
Suddenly Chang sold a headbutt, stumbling backward, only to begin knife-edge chopping back against God’s chest.
The Faithful: “Holy shit!”
The crowd chanted, the censors having an impossible time as God and Chang exchanged blows akin to Japan’s strong style. But Chang fell back against the ropes, the battle royal at a standstill. Out of nowhere, Chang ducked and pulled down the rope!
Lazlo Goodlove: “God just went over the rope on his own momentum but he’s hanging on! Chang’s trying to throw him out!”
Nate Paxton: “Wait a minute!”
Chang leaped over the top, taking God with him to the floor as the crowd all stood up and began to stare.
Lazlo Goodlove: “GOD HAS BEEN ELIMINATED BY CHANG DONG GEUN!”
Nate Paxton: “But they’re not done!”
Through the crowd, Chang and God continued to exchange blows, fighting their way up and out of the crowd!
Lazlo Goodlove: “The faithful are on their feet as God himself has been brought into Wrestling With Christ and clearly, there’s a heated rivalry there!”
Nate Paxton: “Everybody in the ring clearly trying to figure out what just happened and wait a minute!”
During the distraction, Cecily Golding and Brennan Devlin united and were seen sending Bun Bun over the ropes and out of the ring to the surprise of the crowd! The rather tall beast in a bunny suit slamming his hands over the mat as Golding and Devlin high fived. Across the ring, Dirty Gus Stevens and The Resurrected One exchanged blows.
Lazlo Goodlove: “Anyone who brought their bibles have long since been dropped all over the ring by now thanks to that surprise appearance by God but, wait! That and honestly people being hit with a bible just isn’t as interesting as it sounds, it’s not even really that good of a weapon. What were we thinking?”
Gus picked up a rather thick, seemingly metal-plated bible and cracked it against the skull of the Resurrected One, sending him stumbling. Before Gus could make a move, Magnus came out of nowhere with a running boot sending Gus tumbling into the corner! Kira Izumi out of nowhere grabbed the dazed Resurrected One and launched him out of the ring!
Nate Paxton: “That resurrection clearly did not take, the Resurrected One is out!”
On the opposite side of the ring, Kymmy Olliver, or Keezus as she asked to be referred too was dealing with a pummeling in the corner. The much smaller Cai Yukiko seemingly struggling with Kymmy’s boot against her throat. Nearby, Maverick was being hit with a flurry of boots, kicks and more from Matt and Skylar Knight, culminating in a snapmare from Matt and a running knee from Skylar! Then, in quick succession, Maverick was out! On the opposite side of the ring, Kymmy Olliver had Cai Yukiko hanging over the ropes and it looked to be all she wrote… but to everyone, including Kymmy’s shock, the rookie Yukiko looped her legs around the neck of Olliver in a headscissors and threw her out much to her anger, and the delight of Cai herself!
Lazlo Goodlove: “There goes another favorite, Kymmy is irate!”
The Faithful: “Cai! Cai! Cai!”
Before Cai could respond to the adulation, to the boos of the crowd, militant preacher Daequan was on her trying to throw her out! Seemingly in some sort of alliance of chance with Noah Jackson and Vita Valenteen. The group of them all trying to send the smaller woman out and further narrow down the playing field. The Double Dragons and Kira Izumi jumped into the fray, exchanging blows with Daequan, Valenteen and Jackson.
Nate Paxton: “You’re gonna see a lot of these by chance alliances coming together as this match goes on, everyone wanting to move forward to that Golden Ticket match at the end of the night!”
Robbie Bourbon was on a roll opposite, across the ring. Attacking everyone that moved, sandwiching Kira Izumi in the corner with a clothesline before steamrolling through Valenteen and Jackson! Then out of nowhere, Brennan Devlin catches him in the back with a dropkick and in a surprising display of strength, Cecily Golding hoists him over her head in a fireman’s carry and sends him out of the ring to the shock of everyone!
Lazlo Goodlove: “Not even Robbie Bourbon can believe it! The power of God just filled Cecily Golding and she sent him out!”
Nate Paxton: “Strong women are a turn on for many men, Lazlo and I too would like to fill…”
Lazlo Goodlove: “You can’t say that on TV, Nate!”
Back in the ring, the playing field was shrinking down as the team of Golding and Devlin shared a quick high five while the Double Dragons caught their gaze and the two teams squared up. Only for the nearby team of Matt and Skylar Knight to burst into the fray too. Then Valenteen and Jackson pushed into this group tag fight, and then finally, Baewatch were in as well! Suddenly it comes to blows, all members of these groups exchanging rights and lefts!
Lazlo Goodlove: “Chaos has taken hold and it looks like Baewatch and Flex Appeal have singled eachother out! Meanwhile, the Dragons and Valenteen and Jackson are busy going at it! Wait, Jackson has Jeff Bogard teetering! Johnny Lee is trying to help but Valenteen tossed him onto the apron as well!”
The Dragons hung on while Valenteen and Jackson fought them, but to their shock, the Dragon’s leaped up and kicked each in the head, sending them stumbling. In quick succession, the Dragon’s entered and grabbed them, immediately hurling then both out of the ring! The herd was thinning out, nearby Skylar Knight was down, meanwhile, Baewatch used team offense to attack him! Skylar Knight was down nearby after taking a stiff boot from one of the members of Baewatch, but while they were distracted trying to make a mark on potential future tag team match opponents, Duke Andrews slipped up behind, grabbing Barry Allen by the tights and hurling him over the top! Holliday tried to save him but it was too late!
Lazlo Goodlove: “Andrews here out of nowhere but you can never count that veteran out!”
Nate Paxton: “But he’s made Holliday mad, you have to think this is just adding fuel to the fire if and when American Pain Express meets Baewatch later in the evening!”
Holliday was seeing red, looking to hurt Andrews who had collapsed to the mat after stiff strikes. He stomped Andrews repeatedly only for Dirty Gus to come up behind him and toss him out for another elimination! Duke was on the ground trying to recover as Gus went to grab him and continue where Holliday had left off. Across the ring, Matt Knight dodged a clothesline from street preacher Daequan and caught him with a spin kick, then took off running attempting to clothesline Daequan over but didn’t get all of it. Then, Skylar Knight leaped in, catching Daequan with a flying butt to the face and sending the street preacher flying! Then, the duo of Flex Appeal screamed out how they were ‘bigger than Jesus’ much to the disgruntlement of the crowd!
Lazlo Goodlove: “The crowd letting the fit team of Flex Appeal know how they feel for going against Jesus Christ here tonight! They’ve been rather blasphemous indeed!”
Nate Paxton: “Wait a minute, Magnus!”
As they taunted the crowd, Magnus grabbed them both by the tights and chucked them out! Matt Knight hit the floor but Skylar hung on to the ropes and pulled herself back in, though let out an unearthly screech when she saw her husband had been sent to the floor! Nearby, Devlin and Golding were assaulting Dirty Gus Stevens when Jeff Bogard and Johnny Lee leaped in! The two teams exchanged back and forths, only for this to be cut off when Skylar Knight speared Lee to the ground, angry and clearly looking to take out any other members of a tag team she could get! Bogard was left to deal with Devlin and Golding. He caught Devlin in the knee only for Devlin drop and take him by the leg… then out of nowhere, the surprising strength of Golding lead to Bogard being eliminated!
Lazlo Goodlove: “Cecily Golding’s a relative newcomer but she’s showing why a veteran like Devlin picked her!”
Nate Paxton: “We both know why he picked her, Lazlo.”
Devlin and Golding celebrated while Centurion and Magnus were locked up in a corner, Johnny Lee was dealing with Skylar Knight, Dirty Gus and Duke Andrews exchanged clubbing blows, Kira Izumi seemingly played possum and Cai Yukiko was catching her breath on the apron.
Lazlo Goodlove: “We’re down to the final ten and fatigue is setting in. It looks like Golding and Devlin being the last team standing are gonna pick their opponents apart…”
Devlin turned to taunt the crowd as if he’d already won, only to shockingly have his tights snatched up and be thrown out of the ring by his own partner! Devlin hit the floor and looked back, gawking at her furiously!
Nate Paxton: “Could we see this team falling apart before they even make it to tag action tonight?!”
The two exchanged words, then Devlin hooked her by the heels, dropping her to the mat and pulling her out of the ring. The two arguing back and forth.
Lazlo Goodlove: “Just to note he pulled her under the ring, that is not an elimination!”
The two continued to argue back and forth before suddenly laughing and hugging to the ire of the crowd! Devlin acknowledging he would have done it too, before leaving and letting the match carry on. Back in the ring, Magnus had an iron grip around the bottom rope, struggling to hold on as Centurion worked to eliminate him. Magnus got himself up to a vertical stance only for Centurion to catch him with a boot! Magnus was stumbling but managing to grab Centurion’s leg, Centurion ended up straddle of the ropes and teetering as well! Then, nearby, Cai Yukiko pulled herself up off the mat, seeing this, she springboards from the turnbuckle and catches Centurion with a dropkick to the back! The much smaller woman scoring a second elimination!
Lazlo Goodlove: “The women of Wrestling With Christ showing tonight they are just as capable of any man, Pax!”
Nate Paxton: “We’ve already seen several of these young ladies stand out from the pack for sure, and Centurion looks to be in shock himself!”
Cecily Golding played possum in the corner of the ring, waiting for someone to make a move. Meanwhile, nearby, Skylar Knight lifted Johnny Lee into the air and caught him with a gut wrench suplex. Skylar was clearly in a huff! Skylar was nearly caught off guard however when Dirty Gus nearly caught her with a short-arm clothesline. She ducked, then swiftly caught him in a headscissors sending him flying into, and soon, over the ropes to the surprise of the crowd!
Lazlo Goodlove: “Skylar just got him and… wait, wait, Johnny Lee!”
Lee saw the opportunity as she glanced out at Gus and quickly hooked her by the tights, tossing her over as well! The stage had been set for a confrontation down the line now between the Double Dragons and Flex Appeal, as an irate Skylar had to be lead from ringside by security.
Lazlo Goodlove: “We’re now down to the final six! Kira Izumi, Duke Andrews, Cecily Golding, Johnny Lee, Cai Yukiko, and Magnus!”
Cecily moved over and stirred Cai up, helping her off the mat, mentioning some things about female empowerment and so on, as the only two women they need to work together! Andrews and Magnus were exchanging blows nearby, meanwhile, the rookie Cai and Cecily seemed to be working together, with Cecily directing them both to go for Johnny Lee. Lee went at them with a kick, only for Cai to catch him from the side with a boot. Cecily caught him with a knife-edge chop then Cai with a boot, backing him into a corner. Both women then began to hoist him out, only for him to teeter on the apron… Then Cai with a dropkick sent him out!
Nate Paxton: “There goes Johnny and wait, Cecily trying to turn on another brief ally!”
Cecily attempted to throw Cai out, only for Cai to use her athletics to hang on, skinning the cat on the apron, looping her legs around the neck of Cecily launched her out! Cai was on the apron in shock when out of nowhere, Duke Andrews bowled into her and launched her off the apron as well! The crowd cheering on as he turned to see Magnus getting up across the ring… Meanwhile, Kira Izumi pulled himself up as well!
Lazlo Goodlove: “We’re down to the final three, Paxton!”
Nate Paxton: “Who will move on to the Golden Ticket? Will it be Magnus, Kira Izumi or Duke Andrews?!”
All three men approached each other in the center but Magnus picked up momentum and caught them with a double running knee, dropping both. He quickly attempted to grab up Izumi and launch him out but Izumi caught himself on the ropes, dropping to the apron and holding on. Duke Andrews quickly moved in and spun Magnus around, the two exchanging clubbing blows! The exchange continued on as Andrews seemingly got the better of Magnus in the exchange, taking him to the ropes and attempting to throw him over. But Magnus caught himself!
Lazlo Goodlove: “Magnus holding on!”
Nate Paxton: “It’s not going to be that easy, they’ve survived this long, after all!”
Kira attempted to make the save only for Andrew’s to catch him with a violent elbow to the side of the head for his troubles. He turned only for Magnus to leap and kick him over the ropes. Duke shook it off, and then out of nowhere, he hits the Killshot, aka a V-Trigger, knocking Magnus to the floor!
Lazlo Goodlove: “The final two?! Who will go to the Golden Ticket match in tonight’s main event? Andrews or Izumi?!”
Nate Paxton: “Both men staring each other down and Izumi wasting no time getting on him! Two traditionally sort of known to be ‘bad’ guys here, but the smaller Izumi has spent most of this match being assaulted by bigger talent and is looking to prove himself!”
Izumi and Duke exchanged several rough blows but the bigger Andrews seemingly had the advantage, then a kick to the gut from Izumi evened the odds. Several knife-edge chops came from Izumi, backing Duke to the ropes, only for Duke to retaliate with an uppercut. Both men swaying..
Lazlo Goodlove: “Blood pouring from the mouth of Izumi… wait, that’s not…”
Out of nowhere, Izumi spit his blood mist, a poison mist of sorts into the eyes of Andrews who immediately began wiping and rubbing at his eyes. The crowd siding with Izumi over the brutish heel in Andrews! Izumi struggled to get him to the ropes, Andrews swiping at the air. Izumi stalked him like a predator who’d found his prey, chop blocking the back of his leg and dropping him down on a knee! He sent him to the mat with a shining wizard soon after, then, with some struggle, he hoisted Andrews out of the ring!
BJ Cipes: “And here is your winner… KIRA IZUMI!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “No shame for any of the twenty-five men and women who competed in that battle royal! They all showed why they belong, but Kira Izumi just managed to get by, by the skin of his teeth.”
Nate Paxton: “But you can see outside of the ring that Duke Andrews is giving him a look like ‘that’s not the end of this’!”
WINNER: Kira Izumi

Nate Paxton: “Incredible match we witnessed, ladies and gentlemen! And more to come!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “That’s right, and all of it is building up to a sermon from the man who brought us all here today! That’s right, Pastor Marty Kovacs will be out here after Cai Yukiko and Bun Bun have their match!”
Nate Paxton: “Oh I’m looking forward to all of that, especially seeing how a rabbit puppet wrestles!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “That’ll be a miracle for sure, Nate.”
[ SHANE CLEMMENS VS. SIBERIA ZOMBIE ]
Winner moves on to the Golden Ticket Championship Match.
Several lower card matches tapings had audio errors due to anti-Jesus protestors attempting to cut the feed. Please welcome Nate Paxton and Lazlo Goodlove as they go over the events of the match from the studio.
Nate Paxton: “Ladies and gentlemen, this was a back and forth for the ages. The Zombies are well known across wrestling and for good reason.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “That’s right, Pax. The former Fight One standout, Shane Clemmens showed he still had what it took in a back and forth match between him and Siberia Zombie, herself a former Valor Pro Wrestling standout in her own right.”
Nate Paxton: “This one was a full-on brawl at several points, several pinfall attempts made, and a lot of stiff action with Shane’s more in your face style, and Siberia’s strange mix of lucha and strong style. Pretty sure there were some bloody noses all around in this one.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “And for once it wasn’t from your raised blood pressure at seeing beautiful women in your vicinity.”
Nate Paxton: “Shut the **** up, Lazlo”
Lazlo Goodlove: “In the end, though, after one heck of a contest, Siberia scraped by Shane with a Aib… Abbazabi? Abra Kadabra? Her Gory Special into a Gory Bomb, and managed to get the pin on Clemmens to secure her spot.
WINNER: Siberia Zombie.
GODS STAR RATING: ★★★★1/4
Backstage, the team of Brennan Devlin and Cecily Golding wandered down the hall. Both of them seemingly no worse for wear after their spat in the battle royal earlier in the night. As they turned a corner, Marty Kovacs bumped into them.
Brennan Devlin: “Just the man I was wanting to see.”
Marty Kovacs: “Why?”
Asked the preacher, while Devlin sized him up, pushing up close to him and glaring him in the eyes.
Brennan Devlin: “Okay, honestly, there are two entrances. Do I enter through the Jesus entrance or the Satan entrance?”
Marty Kovacs: “What?”
Marty was confused, glaring between Devlin and Golding.
Brennan Devlin: “Well I mean in wrestling..”
Cecily Golding: “I think he’s saying like, usually there’s a face and heel entrance when there are two places to come from…”
She clarified as Devlin nodded, pointing to her.
Brennan Devlin: “That.”
Marty Kovacs: “There’s no satan entrance! This is Wrestling With Christ. You come out of the one opposite your opponent!”
Brennan Devlin: “But I’m the Face of Wrestling, but I’m also a bit naughty, so would that be the Jesus entrance or the Satan entrance?”
Cecily Golding: “He’s honestly not going to stop till you answer. He ruins all of my jokes.”
Cecily sighed as she stood by him, and Marty just looked annoyed.
Marty Kovacs: “Oh my god.”
He walked off, leaving Brennan and Cecily standing there. Brennan looked over at Cecily and smiled.
Brennan Devlin: “Satan entrance it is.”
[ ANGEL MCMASTER VS. REVEREND THOMAS REECE ]
Winner moves on to the Golden Ticket Championship match.
Nate Paxton: “A reverend versus an angel, it sounds like the plot of a post-apocalyptic adventure film.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “But it is a match taking place here at Wrestling With Christ!”
Nate Paxton: “Thomas Reece came ready for a fight, and while he may be a bit more of an extremist about religion compared to some of us here in Wrestling With Christ, he truly seemed to have a bone to pick with Angel.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “I talked to him earlier in the evening and he seemed to hold issue with the fact McMaster had been touted as ‘our’ Angel since signing with Wrestling With Christ and he wanted to prove her wrong.”
Nate Paxton: “Unfortunately, as this match went on, that seemed less and less likely, ultimately culminating in Angel McMaster capturing the victory with her Pump Handle Slam maneuver called the Angel from Above.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “And the playing field for the Golden Ticket gets even deeper with the addition of McMaster.”
WINNER: Angel McMaster.
GODS STAR RATING: ★★★
Cai Yukiko was seen in the back getting ready for her debut match with any wrestling promotion. She was in proper ring gear and looking to be her usual lovely self when a hand puppet popped out from behind her dresser.
Bun Bun: “Whoa, you’re Cai Yukiko!”
A whistling noise was heard, and the puppets' eyes featured hearts…
Cai Yukiko: “And you’re… the rabbit I’m facing. Still not sure how that will work.”
Bun Bun: “Don’t worry Cai, I’d never hurt you!”
An audible ‘aw’ was heard as the rabbit covered his eyes embarrassed, while Cai mostly just seemed confused.
Cai Yukiko: “Uhm… okay then, well, I’ll see you out there!”
Bun Bun: “Okay, I’ll see you!”
As Cai walked away, Bun Bun began to react strangely, little hands reaching up to hold his head.
Bun Bun: “No please… don’t make me… don’t make me hurt her.”
Bun Bun dropped behind the dresser and suddenly a large man in a filthy looking bunny mascot costume stood in his place, grunting as he glared down the hall.
[ CAI YUKIKO VS. BUN BUN ]
Lazlo Goodlove: “If Bun Bun didn’t want to hurt Cai Yukiko while he was in the back, something changed.”
Nate Paxton: “This behemoth powered over the smaller Yukiko through most of the match, though the heart of Cai cannot be downplayed.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “No, she took whatever this… monster? We’re going with a monster, she took whatever he could give and kept kicking out.”
Nate Paxton: “In the end, when Bun Bun went to catch Cai with his chokeslam, as he lifted her off the mat though, Cai twisted the mask he wears around his head.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “This was enough to let her take him down with a Tiltawhirl Headscissors and drop him to the mat.”
Nate Paxton: “Then, she rocked him like a HurriCAIne, taking the wind out of this big man and getting her first pro wrestling victory, surprising the world! But where will this young lady go from here, Laz?”
WINNER: Cai Yukiko.

After everyone had cleared out of the ring, Marty Kovacs, the pastor who had put this all together walked out to the ring. A podium having been placed inside of it. He moved his way to the microphone and began to speak. In the crowd, running the collection plates were the lovely Faith McKinsey and Neve Marx, collecting from various members of the audience.
Marty Kovacs: “Brothers and sisters, are we having fun tonight?”
He laughed as the fans he had dubbed the faithful cheered on, him saluting them all.
Marty Kovacs: “Everybody said we couldn’t do it. We couldn’t combine our faith and the sport of professional wrestling, everybody said… a lot of strange things about wanting to fight Jesus Christ himself, God himself. I’d heard it so much ladies and gentlemen that I started using the mute function on the Twitter. I said on the twitter-ah!”
A bit more fire to his voice as he rose his hands up in the air, feeling the spirit run through him.
Marty Kovacs: “We came preaching acceptance and tolerance, and while many of you signed yourselves to this show to join us. Just as many lambasted us for our faith, many who preached that they themselves desired tolerance… they showed themselves to be incapable of tolerating others. But I do not hold ill will towards any of them, I pray for them, as we all should. Because our enemies, brothers and sisters, they need help. Do not let anyone sour you on the idea that today and tomorrow, we all will have participated in something truly special… and…”
Before he could carry on, some voices echoed out through the building, and through the previously dubbed ‘Satan’ entrance came the team of Flex Appeal.
Skylar Knight: “Blah, blah, blah, blah!”
The fans booed loudly as Skylar mocked him.
Matt Knight: “Everyone knows the only thing worth worshipping in this building is the most physically fit tag team in this business, us.”
Skylar Knight: “We are bigger than Jesus, Marty. You should renounce your faith and give yourself over to the one… true… faith.”
Matt and Skylar: “Us!”
Marty grimaced, already annoyed.
Marty Kovacs: “Well I think your opponents this evening, two god fearing women and regulars at my church will think differently! They have weekly book burnings, but tonight, Flex Appeal, they’re gonna burn you alive… Ladies and gentlemen, ‘Bad’ Irene and Gerty!:
Skylar Knight: “I’m going to choke that old bitch!”
Skylar pointed at Gerty as she walked out, slowly removing her hat which featured several large amounts of feathers. Then the two big-haired older women began to take off their earrings and head to the ring.
[ FLEX APPEAL (MATT AND SKYLAR KNIGHT) VS. MOTHERS AGAINST MEDIA (“BAD” IRENE AND GERTY) ]
Lazlo Goodlove: “Talk about some anger during this match, Nate.”
Nate Paxton: “Of course, but fan favorites Gerty and Bad Irene came into this with some momentum.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “Hey, isn’t Irene your ex-wife?”
Nate Paxton: “Why do you think we call her bad? The things that woman did.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “And that’s where we move on, Pax. Because boy, what a match this was. It turns out being two religious mothers who hate everything is not proper criteria to wrestle a match.”
Nate Paxton: “No, because these two old birds were outclassed throughout.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “Ultimately, the Mothers were no match for the combined might of Flex Appeal who fell them with a delayed flapjack into a DDT they call the Perfect Finish.”
WINNER: Flex Appeal.

A man wandered through the back looking to be disheveled as if he were on some sort of medication. He wore tattered rags and looked to be homeless, perhaps. He was mumbling something that sounded potentially insane.
Man: “The seals… they’re opening… the end times… they.. coming… must stop…”
Suddenly he turned a corner to see the son of Pastor Marty Kovacs, Jake Kovacs..
Jake Kovacs: “Listen, man, you need to move, I have to go prea…”
Before he could say anything else, the strange man stabbed Jake in the gut. Jake dropped to the floor in shock, glaring at him as the man kept moving. Eventually, some people rounded the corner and dropped to check on him.
Staff: “Jake? Jake?! Someone get us some help, call an ambulance!”
The faith healers running in to check on Jake as we fade into the next match.
[ CECILY GOLDING AND BRENNAN DEVLIN VS. THE CHRIST STARS (DYNAMITE LARRY, RADICAL RANDY AND THE FALCON) ]
Nate Paxton: “... I don’t know what we just witnessed but while we get word from the back, we’ll go ahead into our next match.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “Everyone in the wrestling business knows Brennan Devlin, for better or worse, but tag teams have never been the man’s specialty.”
Nate Paxton: “Which is why it was a surprise when he found Cecily Golding and was announced to be working as a team in Wrestling With Christ…”
Lazlo Goodlove: “But here’s the thing, the fan favorites, the Christ Stars were here in Wrestling With Christ to show the world that their ability to wrestle and run youth groups was second to none.”
Nate Paxton: “Throughout this match, they showed some ability, but the veteran Devlin and the young up and coming Cecily Golding were not easily staved off with that.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “In the end, the Christ Stars were not enough to overcome the team of Golding and Devlin, with Golding lifting Dynamite Randy over her shoulders in a fireman's carry and spinning him out into the cutter that Devlin calls the Face Off with Cecily scoring the pinfall.”
Nate Paxton: “After the match though, after the match something sickening happened…”
WINNER: Cecily Golding and Brennan Devlin.
GODS STAR RATING: ★★★1/2
Brennan Devlin: “Cecily, get me the bird!”
Devlin pointed out to a caged member of the Christ Stars, their pet, ‘The Falcon’. Cecily seemed conflicted by this but retrieved the parrot, not a falcon.
Nate Paxton: “What is Brennan Devlin doing?”
Lazlo Goodlove: “I don’t know… Cecily just set the cage in the center of the ring…”
Devlin rolled out of the ring and began to grab a steel chair from near the announcer’s desk by the ring, then went back into the ring. Devlin held the chair up in the air over the birdcage…
The Faithful: “KILL THAT BIRD, KILL THAT BIRD!”
Nate Paxton: “The mix of wrestling fans and religious people clearly have a bloodlust tonight.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “You know what I say, Laz, there’s nobody more dangerous than Christians.”
Cecily tried to talk Devlin out of it, nobody wanted to see a dead bird. The two of them going back and forth, before Brennan relented and lowered the chair. Brennan waved it off and started to back away, only to suddenly begin battering the cage with a chair, smashing the flimsy thing on top of the bird.
Lazlo Goodlove: “... Brennan Devlin just murdered one of God's creatures.”
Nate Paxton: “I’m honestly in shock…”
Then to add insult to injury, he kicked the birds body onto the fallen Christ Stars and left the ring with Golding who seemed to be surprised at her partner.

Backstage, Winter Drell watched a monitor that sat in a hallway, showing every bit of the goings-on of the program. She just looked confused at what she’d witnessed, when Violet Fontenot came into the picture, and from the opposite side, Izzy Van Doren. The three future opponents all giving each other a hard look.
Winter Drell: “Ladies…”
The awkwardness in the air as they all looked back and forth at one another. The heels in Winter and Violet glared at each other, only for Van Doren to walk in between them both.
Izzy Van Doren: “Let's get this straight, I’m winning this match and the championship tonight. End of story.”
Van Doren glared at them both before pushing past, shoving on ahead. Winter kept standing there, then looked over at Violet.
Winter Drell: “What the fuck are you looking at?”
She glared and then continued on her way, all of them seemingly carrying a lot of pressure as the match built up. Then Violet began to chuckle and laugh as she stared off at the women who had left.
Lazlo Goodlove: “... Violet Fontenot is a very disturbed soul, isn’t she?”
Nate Paxton: “Just like my ex-wife.”
[ WINTER DRELL VS. IZZY VAN DOREN VS. VIOLET FONTENOT ]
Winner moves on to the Golden Ticket Championship match.
Lazlo Goodlove: “We’ve seen a lot tonight but we were in for a treat with this one, with Izzy Van Doren, a wrestling standout all her own, Winter Drell - a part of the now well known Drell family, and even Violet Fontenot of the… Fontenot clan? I guess they’re a clan.”
Nate Paxton: “All of these young ladies wanted this and it was a battle for supremacy of course, it was a battle in its own way to see which of these ladies was the best on this night.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “We saw everyone getting their stuff in throughout with Drell and Van Doren seemingly having a bone to pick with each other after that moment backstage.”
Nate Paxton: “But Violet Fontenot came in like a ball of fire several times, but ultimately what caused her to be taken out of this match was just her own violent nature!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “Fontenot was trying to bring an axe handle into the ring to take out her opponents, only for the ref to stop her. This was her own undoing, allowing Izzy Van Doren to capture her in the Adios Amigos.”
Nate Paxton: “After a long match of trading pinfalls though, Van Doren was slow to go for the pin and this allowed Drell to toss her out of the ring!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “Then, all it took was a Killing in the Name of Drell submission on Fontenot, who held on, but ultimately, the referee stopped the match and declared Drell the winner… much to Van Doren’s displeasure outside of the ring.”
WINNER: Winter Drell.

CJ Sweet was in the back stretching, getting ready for her match when Astraea rounded a corner. The two opponents this evening stopping to look to one another, with the former WEW standout CJ Sweet holding her ground.
C.J. Sweet: “What do you want, Astraea?”
Asked Sweet as Astraea wandered around her, sizing her up before offering her a smile.
Astraea: “I’m just here to warn you… Lay down in that ring, or I’ll snap you like a twig, Cover Girl.”
She said with a fake smile on her lips, both women watching one another with clear disdain in their expressions.
C.J. Sweet: “I get you’re supposed to be scary, but, I’m not worried. I’m going to fight you, and I have no doubt the best woman will win.”
Astraea: “Oh, I have no doubts about that. See you out there.”
The cameras cutting away as the two stared each other down.
[ DOUBLE DRAGONS VS. REGULATORS INC ]
Lazlo Goodlove: “Everyone was ‘hyped’ as the kids say to see the Double Dragons take on the Regulators and why shouldn’t they be?”
Nate Paxton: “Both teams had some exciting back and forths on the social media, which I’ve been banned off of for saying a few off-color remarks.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “Unrelated, Pax! But these two teams were two fan favorites, the young ladies of the Regulators and the young men of the Double Dragons had a back and forth contest full of pin attempts and near finishes.”
Nate Paxton: “This was full of some flight on the part of the Dragons and some rough, hard-fought action on the part of the Regulators.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “In the final stretch of this match, the Regulators caught Johnny Lee with the Red Dead Revolver and nearly got the pinfall, but Bogard made the save.”
Nate Paxton: “Incredible heard was shown by both teams throughout, with the Regulators Inc trying for a second time after managing to get Bogard on the ropes. But Johnny catches Sadie with a head scissors and seemingly sent her out of the ring by accident…”
Lazlo Goodlove: “This left Jane on her own to be set up with the Megazord Power Now! Sadie tried to get back in the ring to stop Bogard from the pin but the referee managed to count the three for the pinfall.”
Nate Paxton: “After the match though, the two teams shook hands, a surprising amount of respect shown given how people in this business usually respond to each other, with the Dragons stepping out of the ring and leaving Regulators Inc to a standing ovation. Class acts, those boys.”
WINNER: Double Dragons.

Fallon Lockhart exited her locker room and began on the way to the ring, as she wandered along, Rika was seen preparing, and not too long on down the hall, Sloane Taylor wandered out of her own locker room. The three ladies exchanging looks, some worse than others. But before anyone could speak, paramedics rushed by.
Paramedic: “There’s been another stabbing!”
The women all looked around a bit confused.
Fallon Lockhart: “Wait, a stabbing?”
The paramedic stopped and glanced at her.
Paramedic: “Yes, a stabbing. Can’t talk, need to deal with this.”
Fallon Lockhart: “...”
Sloane Taylor: “I too would enjoy more information about the stabbing.”
Rika: “It just stabbing, babies.”
Then we fade into the next match.
[ FALLON LOCKHART VS. SLOANE TAYLOR VS. RIKA ]
Winner moves on to the Golden Ticket Championship match.
Lazlo Goodlove: “Bizarre situation backstage but none of these young women seem too thrown.”
Nate Paxton: “Fallon and Sloane both seemed a little put off in the back though, though this hasn’t seemed to throw them as the match begins!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “The three of them met in the center of the ring, no fear to any of them and quickly began to go at it in glorious battle for our lord and savior.”
Nate Paxton: “Early on, the stylings of Rika seemed to lead to her taking advantage, taking down Fallon Lockhart with a few swift kicks before focusing on a fight with Sloane Taylor.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “A near fall on Sloane from Rika lead to a change in this match as Sloane managed to come back throughout, but Fallon Lockhart was right back in with them. The three-way dance as chaotic as any, with Sloane seemingly taking control as the match went on.”
Nate Paxton: “The Sky Queen Sloane Taylor took Rika down with a Seeing Stars 720 kick and without missing a beat, went right back at it with Fallon! She dropped Fallon with another of these kicks before ultimately scaling the ropes and hitting the Skyfall!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “But it wasn’t enough with Fallon kicking out at 2 and ½.”
Nate Paxton: “Rika was immediately back on Sloane, clubbing blows into the back of her head. Fallon recuperated though and took Sloane out with the BKO for her trouble!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “The final exchange of this match saw Rika attempt to finish Fallon with the Kawaii Kick! But Fallon ducked it as Sloane rose up just in time to get caught!”
Nate Paxton: “This moment of confusion allowed Fallon to lock in the Mouse Trap for some time, before Rika had to tap.”
WINNER: Fallon Lockhart.

In the back, Marty Kovacs was seen outside as an ambulance loaded up his son, Jake. Jake had been stabbed in the back by a bizarre cultist.
Jake Kovacs: “Dad, stop, I’ll be okay, get out there and finish the rest of the night.”
Marty Kovacs: “Son I..”
Marty seemed conflicted, he wanted to see this through, but that was his kid! He felt great turmoil.
Jake Kovacs: “Just be careful, that guy… he kept saying something about the end of the world.”
As he was loaded up, Marty proceeded to walk along before kicking a nearby trash can and screaming out.
Marty Kovacs: “FUCK!”
… Clearly not as religious as he let on, he moved towards the cameras, cursing at the cameraman for recording him as we move into the next match.
[ CJ SWEET VS. ASTRAEA ]
Winner moves on to the Golden Ticket Championship match.
Lazlo Goodlove: “These two lovely ladies seemed to have had a bone to pick with one another before this whole thing even began, so when they got into the ring, it was obvious they had it out for each other.”
Nate Paxton: “Two in-ring veterans with clashing styles went right at it, with Astraea hitting her Straea-Bomb early on and nearly putting CJ away out of nowhere!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “But the heart of CJ Sweet cannot be denied, and she came out of it fighting. Astraea was in shock, but managed to hit her with a second Straea-Bomb yet another two count.”
Nate Paxton: “For this match, CJ Sweet just would not be put away, eventually fighting her way out of the heinous hands of Astraea!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “And ultimately, Astraea’s own frustrations at not being able to put CJ away got the better of her, and lead to her being caught out of nowhere with a Sweet Dreams for the pinfall!”
WINNER: CJ Sweet

The band Faith+1 came out to the stage for the next part of the show. This was clearly some sort of South Park fan group that Marty was not hip enough to know. Visibly in the background throughout this concert, Neve Marx and Faith McKinsey could be seen with the collection plate in the crowd.
Faith +1: “You know, Jesus, I've been thinking a lot about you lately and... well... that's why I wrote this song.
I love you, Jesus
I want you to walk with me
I'll take good care of ya, baby
Call you my baby, baby
You died for my sins
And you know that I would die for you, right?
What's the matter, baby?
You're tremblin' Jesus, ba-baaaaaayyyy
Your love is my light
You know when I'm without you there's a black hole in my life
Oh-oooh I want to believe it's all right
But I get lonely in the night and it's up to you to save me!
Jesus, baby!”
A standing ovation came from the loving public, though some members of the crowd, the wrestling fans and smarter people involved seemed to realize this was a song from an animated adult comedy...
[ CHRIS CONSTANTINE JR. / REDD THUNDER VS. BAEWATCH ]
Lazlo Goodlove: “Inspiring music moments ago, truly. But Baewatch versus Thunder and Constantine had been something we were very interested in seeing since this thing was announced.”
Nate Paxton: “The big man Redd Thunder and Chris Constantine came into this pretty cocky and seemingly unworried about Baewatch but, shoot, Baewatch gave them one heck of a fight!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “After a running boot from Holliday to Constantine sending him loopy, Holliday and Allen began working on Thunder. Though Thunder was like a mountain, after a chop block from Holliday, this stumbled him and allowed Allen to drop Thunder with a leaping flatliner.”
Nate Paxton: “But these kids knew Thunder would be back up, they kept focusing him and throwing kicks, running knees, shining wizards, anything they could to keep him to the mat. This lead to several pins, with differing results but not a win. They truly threw everything but the kitchen sink at this big man.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “Constantine ended up outside of the ring though, taunting Holliday who followed, only for Constantine to covertly drive a ring bell into his head out of the sight of the referee!”
Nate Paxton: “This gave Thunder the exact opening he needed to hit the Brute Force Algorithim on Barry Allen and get the pinfall!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “A valiant effort from Baewatch, but Redd Thunder was just too much.”
WINNER: Chris Constantine Jr. and Redd Thunder

Back after a break, Daequan stood in the center of the ring in front of a podium. One of the special guest preachers for the evening, Daequan was already on point and fired up after an appearance in the earlier battle royal.
Daequan: “Ladies and gentlemen, I…”
Before he could say anything, another odd homeless man similar to the one from earlier rushed the stage! Security hit and Marty Kovacs ran out.
Marty Kovacs: “Get those fucking cameras off!”
He yelled as Daequan was seen scuffling with this man, with security trying to pull him off and we fade into a technical difficulties screen.
…
……
And we’re back...
[ JACK DANIELSON / ANDREW WILKOW VS. NOAH JACKSON / VITA VALENTEEN ]
Lazlo Goodlove: “Jack and Andrew were on point from the get-go in this thing, they would not give Jackson and Valenteen a chance to get much offense in.”
Nate Paxton: “No, these two were ready from the start to kick some tail. They overwhelmed Jackson and Valenteen with surprising tandem offense.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “Jackson was left alone after Brew Collar took out Valenteen with the Back Roads. Then, he made a massive mistake attempting the King Hit on Danielson who completely no-sold this.”
Nate Paxton: “Jackson was dropped with a quick Back Roads for his trouble.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “Then a pinfall and that was it for Valenteen and Jackson.”
WINNER: Jack Danielson and Andrew Wilkow.
GODS STAR RATING: ★★
Lazlo Goodlove: “Ladies and gentlemen, now, let's talk about the Golden Ticket Championship.”
Nate Paxton: “The golden ticket championship is believed to be placed on this Earth by God, Laz. Designed by him and it is said whoever holds it earns a reward.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “What could that reward be though, Paxton?”
Nate Paxton: “A free pass to Heaven, it has to be, Laz! Speaking of, next, we have Tony Savage and Jacob Kuntz in a Go into the Light Tubes Death Match for a chance to move on into the main event!”
[ TONY SAVAGE VS. JACOB KUNTZ ]
Winner moves on to the Golden Ticket Championship match.
Go Into the Light-tubes DeathMatch.
Nate Paxton: “Savage and Kuntz spent most of this one brawling for supremacy.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “There was nothing pretty about this one, Pax. With light tubes coming into play regularly. Both men had been beaten bloody, though we’re sure the faith healers can stop it once one of them ultimately wins… still.”
Nate Paxton: “It will take a heck of a lot of faith to do it, but it can be done for sure.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “I’ve honestly never seen a man try to spank another man with light tubes before, Nate, have you?”
Nate Paxton: “This one time south of the border, Laz. I have. But Kuntz tried it on Tony Savage, it was… effective in a way? I’m sure Tony Savage will be picking light tube from his cheeks for a week.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “After both men get busted open and one heck of a brawl, the two end up fighting on the stage above a massive pile of light tubes..”
Nate Paxton: “To everyone’s surprise, Tony lost his footing briefly and it allowed Kuntz to get enough momentum to hit him with the Hep C and send him through the light tubes! Then, he got the pinfall.”
WINNER: Jacob Kuntz.
GODS STAR RATING: ★★★1/2
In Marty’s office, he sat and watched various monitors. All the teams coming down the halls in the back, clearly ready for the match. Then, a mysterious suited man in black stood up from a chair behind him.
Man in Black: “Night one is almost done… You did it.”
Marty Kovacs: “But at what cost?”
Man in Black: “Your son will be fine, and those… those cultists… they’ll be handled by police, after all, the people I represent have their hands in everything.”
The man said sinisterly as Marty watched on, clearly having his doubts.
Marty Kovacs: “Jake said that this one was talking about the end of the world…”
Man in Black: “You expect to make sense of the ramblings of the insane?”
Marty sighed and rubbed his eyes, clearly tired.
Marty Kovacs: “I guess you’re right.”
Fade.
[ DANIELSON/WILKOW VS. CONSTANTINE/THUNDER VS. DOUBLE DRAGONS VS. DEVLIN/GOLDING VS. FLEX APPEAL ]
CCW Tag Team Championships
Nate Paxton: “The tag teams have all fought hard for a chance at CCW Tag Team Championship gold!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “And it all culminates in this, will it be Chris Constantine Jr and Redd Thunder? Or the team of Jack Danielson and Andrew Wilkow? Or the young upstarts, the Double Dragons?! Or the alliance of Brennan Devlin and Cecily Golding? Or - the physically fit Flex Appeal?! We’re about to find out.”
Nate Paxton: “This one began like most slobber knocking fistfights with many teams involved, with an all-out war to start us off!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “Every team was getting their poop in, Nate.”
Nate Paxton: “I don’t think that phrase has the same sort of oomph to it without the vulgarity, Laz, but you’re right! Everyone was getting their poop pushed in!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “No Pax, that’s what happens to you when you go to that bar you think nobody knows about.”
Nate Paxton: “Ah, good old fashioned hatred from Lazlo here tonight folks as the teams going at it have been bowled out of the ring for the moment and its Thunder and Brennan Devlin standing in the center of the ring now!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “I have it on good authority these two men have said in the past to have met in a previous life, and while that sounds like imaginary nonsense, these two are exchanging blows with the much bigger Redd Thunder taking control!”
Nate Paxton: “This back and forth continued after Thunder took out Devlin with a big clothesline after some back and forth on their part. At one point during the match, Flex Appeal attempted to whittle the big man down and even hit their Perfect Finish for the first pinfall attempt of the match.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “But the behemoth Thunder was too much and kicked out, leading several of the teams such as Devlin and Golding and Flex Appeal to toss him out of the ring and even slam him over the steel steps in an attempt to incapacitate the giant.”
Nate Paxton: “Constantine of course wasn’t about to let this go down, but he was busy at the time with Danielson and Wilkow who were whittling away at him in a corner.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “The Dragons being two good boys though, they weren’t going to let these devils beat up on one man, so both men vaulted themselves over the ropes into the crowd as they’d dealt with Thunder and managed to leave a pile of bodies on the outside.”
Nate Paxton: “Back in the ring Wilkow and Danielson are still stomping a literal mudhole in the midsection of Constantine.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “But the ever-resilient Chris Constantine rolled out of the ring and managed to escape them before being left too worse for wear and went to revive his partner who was outside of the ring.”
Nate Paxton: “Flex Appeal ended up back in the ring with Wilkow and Danielson though, with Matt Knight throwing Wilkow shoulder first into a turnbuckle to incapacitate him.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “Danielson didn’t even get a chance to check on his partner before Skylar and Matt were on him! Skylar and Matt caught him with their finisher the Perfect Finish but it was only a near fall!”
Nate Paxton: “And the Double Dragons managed to recover from the dive to the outside earlier and slid in, catching Flex Appeal with tandem superkicks before focusing their assault on Danielson.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “Danielson got a beating for a large part of the match too, with the Dragons catching Danielson for a near fall with It’s Morphin Time!”
Nate Paxton: “But the final stretch of this contest truly came when Devlin and Golding reentered the ring, Wilkow regained his composure and the big man, Redd Thunder managed to hop back in with his partner, Constantine.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “These teams all went back and forth, with Devlin and Golding going for a wheelbarrow lift codebreaker type maneuver on Constantine but him getting free and then Thunder sandwiched Devlin in a corner before throwing him out!”
Nate Paxton: “Thunder was cleaning house, clotheslining down Wilkow and Danielson and then Thunder dropped Golding with his Brute Force maneuver for a near fall!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “Flex Appeal hit the ring and tried to steal it, nailing Thunder with a stomp maneuver and Matt incapacitating Constantine with a spear. But yet, Thunder would not go down quietly.”
Nate Paxton: “Thunder was feeling the spirit this night though, as he got up, double clotheslining Flex Appeal out of the ring. Only for the final moments of this match to feature a staredown between Constantine / Redd Thunder and Wilkow / Danielson.”
Lazlo Goodlove: “Time stood still for some moments with several blows exchanged. But the final moments of this match saw Brew Collar incapacitate Thunder with the Key Party. Then, Chris Constantine valiantly fought back against the two before ultimately succumbing to the Back Roads finisher and a pinfall!”
WINNER: Brew Collar
GODS STAR RATING: ★★★★1/2
BJ. Cipes: “And now, our main event of the evening! The following contest is a ladder match for the Golden Ticket Championship!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “The Golden Ticket Championship is an extremely coveted prize, one of the most holy relics in the world and one of the most valuable championships available, Nate.”
Nate Paxton: “That’s right, and seven lucky talents get the chance to go for the gold… Will it be the deathmatch oriented Jacob Kuntz? The returning veteran CJ Sweet? The tenacious Fallon Lockhart? The epitome of divinity Angel McMaster? Siberia of the legendary Zombie Clan? The oriental stylings of Kira Izumi? Or the other up and comer in Winter Drell?”
Lazlo Goodlove: “The odds are stacked against everyone here, but only one man, or woman can come out of this on top.”
[ JACOB KUNTZ VS. CJ SWEET VS. FALLON LOCKHART VS. ANGEL MCMASTER VS. SIBERIA ZOMBIE VS. KIRA IZUMI VS. WINTER DRELL ]
CCW Golden Ticket Championship
All seven people started off in the ring as the bell rang, only for everyone to roll out of the ring and begin attempting to acquire ladders, or watch and attempt to strike if anyone took their guard down.
Lazlo Goodlove: “Everybody trying to get out of the ring and get their own weapon, smart.”
Nate Paxton: “But there’s only so many ladders to go around, Laz! We didn’t blow our budget on ladders!”
Jacob Kuntz came into the ring with a small ladder, only for Siberia Zombie to meet him with a ladder of her own. The two of then jousted with ladders in the center, only for Kuntz to catch Siberia with a shot via the ladder that jarred her enough to make her drop the ladder. She could visibly be seen favoring her fingers as he came at her, bowling through her with the ladder.
Lazlo Goodlove: “Kuntz already putting his proficiency in weapons to use and wait, Lockhart!”
Lockhart scaled the ropes, leaping off and catching Kuntz in the back with a dropkick but it only stumbled him. From the outside, McMaster and Sweet caught his feet and tripped him, causing him to fall flat on his own ladder. Fallon Lockhart went to grab the ladder only to be caught with a running boot from the larger McMaster. Outside of the ring, Winter Drell watched, playing the waiting game, observing the chaos as it went on in the ring only to be taken to the ground by Kira Izumi on the outside!
Lazlo Goodlove: “Chaos unfolding around the ring, and Wrestling With Christ is trending in several small island nations!”
Nate Paxton: “Small island nations? Well we can do better. Talk about us at hashtag Wrestling With Christ!”
Kuntz laid on the apron while Lockhart and Sweet exchanged blows in the center, forearms back and forth. Both women exchanging their offense, while Angel McMaster stirred on the outside. Entering the ring, Angel came in with a stepladder pulled from under the ring and immediately caught Lockhart in the back with it! Then she attempted to do the same to Sweet, but Sweet ducked it and bounced off the ropes, catching her with a flying forearm and sending McMaster and the step ladder to the mat!
Lazlo Goodlove: “Sweet realizing everyone else is down or distracted and setting up a ladder!”
Nate Paxton: “Smart, do your best to end it early!”
Sweet scaled the ladder, making it up to where the championship hung. Her hands brushing against it. Quickly, Winter Drell entered the ring and began to scale as well. She eventually met CJ on the top of the ladder and the two women exchanged blows! Both women striking back and forth, now and again, one of them would reach out to grab hold of the belt only to get their jaw jacked for their troubles.
Lazlo Goodlove: “Both of these young ladies teetering on the top right now, scary spot to be in.”
Nate Paxton: “That just goes to show the want and desire these ladies feel for the gold, Laz.”
Wait, Kuntz just grabbed the ladder! Jacob Kuntz began to push as both women looked down and the ladder began to tumble to the side! Sweet hit hard on the mat, but Drell caught herself and hopped down on her feet before it was too late. She then went immediately for Kuntz, catching him with a boot to the gut knocking him back. She then grabbed the stepladder still in the ring and drove it right into his face!
Lazlo Goodlove: “Kuntz just struck in the side of the head with the stepladder but he’s still standing.”
Drell surprised at this drove it into the side of his head again, only for him to keep stumbling, swaying back and forth. The toughness Jacob Kuntz on display as he yelled ‘hit me again, cunt!’ and Drell gave him just that, driving into him even harder and sending him falling out of the ring.
Nate Paxton: “... I think Jacob Kuntz may have just gotten brain damaged from that ladder to the head!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “That is tenacity, Nate. The want for the Golden Ticket! Kuntz might be bleeding on the floor but I have no doubt he is not done yet!”
Winter Drell drops the step ladder and began working to get a larger ladder set up in the center. Outside of the ring, Kuntz was bleeding but back up and setting up a ladder. CJ Sweet started to raise up only to eat a boot from Angel McMaster for her troubles. Fallon Lockhart hit the ring and as Winter turned, caught a Bliss Knockout for her trouble!
Lazlo Goodlove: “BKO! Lockhart’s climbing the ladder frantically!”
Nate Paxton: “She’s almost got it!”
Kuntz hit the ring and pulled her over his shoulders and carried her towards the apron. He held her in place and attempted to hit his In the Crawl Space move! Only for Fallon to hop off on the apron! She then grabbed him around the head and dropped, bringing him throat first down onto the ropes! Fallon attempted to pull him out onto the apron only for Kuntz to step out there and knee her in the gut! Fallon fell back onto the table which didn’t break, only for Angel McMaster to swipe Kuntz legs out from under him and drop him on the apron! Then she kicked him, knocking him atop Lockhart! Angel then looked to the ladder and began to scale it but it had been knocked out of position in the earlier brawl! She looked around, then saw the two people lying on the table just out of the ring.
Lazlo Goodlove: “No, Angel, don’t do it! Get down, reset the ladder and go for it!”
Angel then moonsaults from the ladder and drives Lockhart and Kuntz through the table on the outside! The crowd on their feet going wild!
The Faithful: “Holy shit, holy shit!”
The censors having a field day trying to get this. Meanwhile, Siberia Zombie who had been taken out early on in a brawl outside of the ring with Kira Izumi slid inside. Kira Izumi met her in the center, the two staring one another down. Siberia caught Izumi with a punch, and Izumi retaliated right back. Izumi caught her with a boot to the rib cage and then, Tiger Driver 91 in the center of the ring! The ladder standing nearby and swaying. Izumi quickly straightened it up and slowly began to climb upward… could this be it?!
Lazlo Goodlove: “Izumi reaching for the stars! Wait! Siberia Zombie climbing up behind him, how is she still in this?!”
Nate Paxton: “She has him by the leg!”
He struggled, stomping down at her. Only for Jacob Kuntz to roll into the ring. He was clearly worse for wear, bleeding badly but he began to scale the ladder as well! Izumi and Kuntz exchanged blows at the top but Siberia attempted to climb up over the shoulders of Izumi, her hands on the championship, she almost had it but Kuntz punched her in the jaw and Siberia nearly fell!
Lazlo Goodlove: “The ladder swaying, three people on one, it can’t hold like this!”
CJ Sweet hit the ring and began to set up a ladder of her own, quickly scaling up it by them and trying to reach for it as they all brawled atop the ladder. Siberia managed to climb over onto her ladder and slammed CJ’s face over the top!
Lazlo Goodlove: “Wait a minute, Winter Drell at the bottom of the ladders!”
Drell pushed both ladders, it was tough, but eventually, they began to fall to the sides. A rain of talent hitting the mat and onto the floors! Drell collapsed to the mat to catch her breath, then realized it was her in the ring, alone! Drell set up the ladder and tiredly began to climb up it, but Angel McMaster who had been taken out earlier in the match scaled the ladder as well, seemingly having gotten her second wind! Both ladies exchanged blows at the top of the ladder!
Lazlo Goodlove: “Everyone else has been incapacitated!”
Nate Paxton: “How poetic would it be for an Angel to win the main event of night one?!”
But the dream was not possible, as Winter nailed several headbutts on Angel and sent her flying to the ground with her move ‘Killing in the Name of Drell’! Angel dropped to the mat, crashing awkwardly and to everyone’s shock… Winter Drell pulled the championship down!
WINNER: Winter Drell.
GODS STAR RATING: ★★★★1/2
BJ. Cipes: “Ladies and gentlemen… your winner and the NEW CCW Golden Ticket Champion… WINTER DRELL!”
She was presented with the championship by Cipes when the fans let out a mixed reaction! Drell was clearly not a fan favorite.
Marty Kovacs: “Winter, Winter!”
Soon, Marty Kovacs walked to the ring with a microphone on hand. A smile on his lips.
Marty Kovacs: “Congratulations on your victory… You fought a hell of a match but… your night isn’t over. Because you see this is only night one. The winner of the Golden Ticket Championship has a new fight on their hands once they’ve gotten it, you see… God has a plan and it involves the winner of his Golden Ticket moving forward. Because at the end of Night Two, whoever holds that championship in your possession will be in the CCW Heavyweight Championship match!”
Marty smiled as the crowd began to cheer, though those cheers turned to boos once they realized.
Winter Drell: “Really? God’s plan, huh?”
She didn’t seem to believe it, but Marty chuckled.
Marty Kovacs: “There’s another thing, though… This championship must be defended until night two… meaning, you can be pinned anywhere, anytime, as long as a CCW sanctioned referee is in attendance. If you’re still champion by the end of night two, 24/7 rules are over and you enter the main event…”
Winter Drell: “What the fuck, I didn’t agree to…”
Out of nowhere, Chang Dong Geun rolled her up and the referee from the previous match jumped into position… 1… 2…. 3!
BJ Cipes: “And the new Golden Ticket Champion, CHANG DONG GEUN!”
Lazlo Goodlove: “24/7 rules in effect until the end of night two, and Chang just won the gold!”
Nate Paxton: “Not fair to Winter Drell who just worked her ass off! But the Young God is now a double champion!”
As Chang jumped out of the ring, a botch seemingly occurred as he tripped and fell off the side of the apron. He hit the floor and immediately, Fallon Lockhart dived on him… 1… 2…. 3!
BJ Cipes: “Once again, the new Golden Ticket Champion… FALLON LOCKHART!”
Chang could be heard saying ‘God’ tripped him, which made perfect sense as he was an invisible force.
Chang Dong Geun: “God, I come kill you next…”
Fallon scurried through the curtain as several roster members began appearing to give chase. Backstage, she hurried down the hall only to duck for cover as several people went by hunting for her. The cameras following along as Lockhart waited. Only to jump back out and begin moving, this was when one of the ring girls, Neve Marx threw open a door and it smacked Fallon in the face! Fallon hit the floor as Neve jumped on her to pin! 1… 2… 3! The referee then awarded her the gold.
Senior Referee Jeff Steelflex: “New Golden Ticket champion, Neve Marx!”
Neve hurried down the hall and out towards the parking lot, only to be tackled to be caught in the side of the head with a dumbbell! Skylar Knight of the team Flex Appeal quickly leaped atop her and the referee counted… 1… 2… 3!
Senior Referee Jeff Steelflex: “New Golden Ticket Champion! Skylar Knight!”
The tires of a car screeched as Matt Knight pulled up by her and threw the door open.
Matt Knight: “Get in, get in!”
Skylar Knight: “WE’RE BIGGER THAN JESUS!”
The tires screeched as Skylar was driven off into the night with the championship, several wrestlers having gathered to watch as it left. Including Winter Drell who glared off into the distance, clearly wanting her championship back…
